My name is Scott Bowe.   I work in systems administration.  Depending on your point of view I fill a lot of roles: Senior Administrator, Systems Engineer, Systems Architect, whatever.  I work for a large insurance company in the Midwest.

I am a member of a team that supports approximately 1200 (or more it grows quickly) Windows Servers, about 100 VMware hosts, and has a hand in supporting ~1200 (it grows faster then servers) Virtual Workstations (VDI).  My main responsibility is keeping the VMware hosts happy and stable.

I dabble in programming and scripting – anything from shell scripting to .Net to php to Powershell.  I’m not the best coder in the world, but I could code myself out of a paper bag – if I had to.

I am a MCSE and MCSA (Messaging) on Sever 2003.  I probably won’t update it to Server 2008, and I don’t plan on getting my VCP – they are just pieces of paper and I am pretty sure I can answer questions the way Microsoft and VMware say you should.  When I have a need for those pieces of paper I’ll get them, until then I’ll let my resume and skills speak for themselves.
